What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Rebound, Scarce

'The Sunday At Home' magazine was first established in 1854, promptly gaining contributions from such eminent authors such as Edwin Hodder, Frederick Langbridge and Alfred Rowland, from various sections of the Christian Church. The aim of the magazine was to make "Sunday reading of an inviting description", and hence provide religious literature in an attractive, copiously illustrated and comprehensive form. This copy contains monthly issues of the magazine from January to December 1881. Collated, copiously illustrated throughout with twelve plates that are coloured or printed on 'toned paper'.

Condition

Rebound in half calf binding with imitation crushed morocco cloth boards. Externally, slightly rubbed to extremities and joints. Rubbing to head and tail of spine and raised bands resulting in slight loss to leather. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean throughout, with the odd spot, heavier to first and last few pages. The odd handling mark to the occasional page. Creasing to tile page. Slight offsetting to from the occasional plate to facing pages. Loss, tearing and creasing to pages 81, 535 and 774, where pages and their facing plates have been stuck together then largely forcibly removed.
