What Our Customers Say...

Description

Author's Presentation Copy, Scarce

This work comprises a self-help book for farm servants in order to improve their service.

Published anonymously by 'R. M.', possibly Robert Milne, publisher of this work in Aberdeen.

Inscribed by the author to the half title page, 'P. Carmichael Esqr. With the Writer's Comps'.

P. Carmichael Esq. is most likely Peter Carmichael Esq (1809-1891); he lived at Arthurstone when this book was published, and the stamp of Arthurstone is seen beneath the inscription.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally very smart, with only the occasional mark to the boards and bumping to the edges. Author's inscription and an ownership stamp to the half title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
