Folding Maps, Illustrated
Isabella Lucy Bird (1831 – 1904) was a nineteenth-century English explorer, writer, and a natural historian. Bird's expedition to Hawaii (known in Europe as the Sandwich Islands) was one of her earliest expeditions. She loved her time there, climbing Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, and it prompted the writing of this volume. Illustrated throughout, including a folding map plate of the islands. Collated complete. Third edition.
