William Makepeace Thackeray (1811-1863) was an English novelist known for his satirical and humorous works, most notable Vanity Fair (1847), which painted a panoramic portrait of upper class British Society.
This edition includes numerous illustrations by the author.
Containing the bookplate of 'James McLean' to the front pastedown.
Condition
Handsomely bound in half calf with marbled boards and endpapers. Externally, lovely, with just a small touch of shelf wear. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
