The twenty-second edition of this work. A study of the Old Red Sandstone assemblage of rocks in the North Atlantic region, largely of Devonian age. Written by Hugh Miller. A classic geological study originally published in 1841 where Miller sees geological evidence as proof of godly design. 

Illustrated with folding coloured frontispiece and fourteen further plates.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally smart with some shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine. Albert Institute library bookplate to front pastedown. Puncture mark to front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to fore edge, affecting first and last few leaves in particular; otherwise pages generally very clean and bright throughout.
