George William Septimus Piesse was an English chemist and perfumer, a lead author and innovator of modern perfume ideas having invented the concept of notes in perfumery.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some fading to the joints and extremities and light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Previous owner inscription to the reverse of the frontispiece. Rear hinge is starting but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
