Fine Binding

Containing Kingsley's doctrinal, practical, historical, critical, descriptive and miscellaneous writings. 

Penned by Charles Kingsley (1819-1875), a priest, professor, novelist, poet and friend of Charles Darwin. His other works include 'The Water-Babies', 'Westward-Ho!' and 'Hypatia'.

The fifth edition of this very scarce work. 

In a lovely binding by Mudie, with gilt detail to the spine and borders.

With a prize inscription, 'George Marshall French Prize July 1882, Arlington House, Brighton'.

Condition

In a full calf binding. Externally very smart; a little rubbing to the head and tail of the spine. Prize inscription to the verso of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
