Written by Wyke Bayliss, British painter, author and poet known as a painter of interiors of British and European churches and cathedrals. He was also a renowned Victorian authority on art. 

Featuring black and white illustrations in text. Four leaves of 'Opinions from the Press' to front.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally with bumping to extremities, light chipping to head of spine. Previous owner's gift inscription to half title page dated 1878. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean.
