This beautifully illustrated work was written by John Henry Walsh, an English sports writer who often wrote under the pseudonym 'Stonehenge'. The work provides a detailed study on dog breeds from the British Islands, discussing sporting dogs, hounds, sheep, cattle dogs and much more.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally worn with marks to the boards, rubbing and bumping to the extremities with small closed tears and slight loss to the cloth to the head and tail of the spine, fading to the spine, and cockling to the front board. Front hinge failed and rear weak. Internally binding weak in places, with the odd page disbound but present and lacking two plates. Pages generally bright with the odd spot.
