Drawing on the writings of leading agriculturalists in France, reports of numerous agricultural societies, and government statistics, Richardson offers a comprehensive account of corn and cattle farming in France. Book plate of prior owner 'George Warde Norman' to the front pastedown. George Warde Norman was the director of the Bank of England from 1821 to 1872. Six pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. The final two pages are untrimmed. Undated. Dated using JISC from a copy held at the University of Cambridge Library.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. A little rubbed to the boards and the spine, with some light wear to the extremities. Bumped to the head and tail of the spine, with a couple of small closed tears to the head. The tail of the spine is missing a slither of cloth.. Front hinge has nearly failed, as has the rear joint. Internally, generally firmly bound. The front endpaper is disbound but present, as are pages 231 to 234. The gutter is visible between pages 96 and 97, 256 and 257. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd bit of marginalia.
