What Our Customers Say...

Description

Early Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

The second edition of this work.

An unrecorded guide for knitting and washing shetland shawls in addition to new patterns for knitted curtains. Shetland wool is a very fine wool, and is typically a hardy and durable wool from a breed of sheep found on the Shetland Isles.

The title page notes that this work was arranged by the authoress of the 'knitted curtain book'. This may well be Agnes Green, who wrote a work called 'The Knitted Curtain receipt book' in 1847.

Former owner's inscription to the head of title page and to the verso of front wrap 'Ann Parratt Book'.

With an early advert for Anchor cottons to the rear wrap.

Condition

In the publisher's original wraps. Externally, generally smart with a few small tidemarks to the wraps. Light rubbing to the wraps. Internally, the textblock has detached from the external wraps. However the textblock itself is firmly bound. Former owner's inscription to the head of the title page. Pages are generally bright. Occasional light scattered spots.
