Written by Edward John Waring, a notable surgeon in the British East India Company, and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London. Waring wrote several books on medicine, including this two-volume 'Bibliotheca Therapeutica' in 1878, that contains numerous critical, historical, and therapeutical annotations, and an appendix containing the bibliography of British mineral waters, offering a detailed and thorough reference to the subject. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973), a noted book collector and diarist.

Condition

In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally generally smart, with slight wear to joints and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean throughout, with the odd spot. Ink inscriptions to pastedowns.
