To the title page it is noted that this new edition if 'revised and enlarged with a notice of nimrod'. 'Nimrod' is a pseudonym for Charles James Apperley, the Welsh sportsman and sporting writer who wrote many works on the chase.
The subject of this biography, John "Mad Jack" Mytton, was an eccentric rake of Regency England. He was known for his flamboyant and eccentric behaviour.
Condition
In a full tree calf binding. Externally, very smart. Light rubbing to the front joint and to the extremities of the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots to pages.
