'The Floral World' was a gardening magazine that was published for the use by amateur gardeners.
This beautiful work contains a vast amount of useful articles, such as discussing the formation of bush roses, chrysanthemums for the conservatory, beautiful trees for kind climates, new roses raised in Lyons, and more.
Illustrated with a chromolithograph frontispiece, eleven chromolithograph plates, and in-text engravings.
Edited by Shirley Hibberd, one of the most successful gardening writers of the Victorian era, and was known to be one of first successful writes for amaetur gardeners. He also published 'The Town Garden', 'Brambles and Bay Leaves', and 'Familiar Garden Flowers'.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light marks to the boards. Minor rubbing to the joints. Small worm hole to the tail of the front joint and spine. Front hinge is strained, rear hinge is weak. Internally, generally firmly bound, more strained to the rear, with page 371-372 detached but present. Pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot.
