This volumes features a collection of intricate steel engravings which depict famous scenes and characters from the works of the notorious William Shakespeare. The work was edited with explanatory passages by Edward Dowden, an Irish critic and poet.
Condition
Bound in full morocco with a gilt crest to the front board. Externally generally smart with fading to the spine, rubbing to the extremities, joints and raised bands and very minimal marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with lightly age toned pages and the odd spot.
