    Description

    Leather Binding

    In a tree calf binding by R&A Suttaby Samuel Smiles was a Scottish author and government reformer known for his work Self-Help, a liberal, politically charged self help work on the merits of thrift.

    Condition

    In a full tree calf binding by Suttaby. Externally, very smart with slight rubbing to extremities. Booksellers label to front pastedown. Front hinge slightly strained after front endpaper with endpaper loosening but otherwise firm. Ink inscription to verso of front free-endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean aside from the odd scattered spot.
