Collated, complete. Collated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library.
By Washington Irving, the popular American author best known for 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow'.
Illustrated by Randolph Caldecott, a very influential illustrator of children's books.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A couple of small cracks to the rear joint. A few light marks to the boards and spine. Hinges are a little strained but remain firm. Bookseller's labels to the paste downs. Front endpaper is detached but present. Prior owner's ink inscription to the verso to the front endpaper. Blind stamp to the rear endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with just a few light spots. Half-title and frontispiece are detached but present.
