What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, Decorative Binding, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Published under the pseudonym Peter Parley; this was originally the pseudonym of Samuel Griswold Goodrich, an American author best known for his collections for children. Starting with 'The Token' in 1828, these publications were collections covering biography, history, science and stories. He was mentioned in writings by James Joyce, Emily Dickinson and James McNeill Whistler.

Three volumes, covering the years 1876, 1880 and 1887.

Volume I is illustrated with six colour plates and lacks three, volume II is complete with nine, and volume III is complete with seventeen. Each volume is also lavishly illustrated with in-text engravings.

Each with numerous pages of publisher's advertisements bound to the rear.

A delightful collection of bright children's annuals.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart; cloth is a touch discoloured, with bumping to the head and tail of the spines and the extremities. Internally, binding is occasionally a little tender, with straining to the hinges. Pages are sometimes spotted.
