Folding Maps, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Rebound
A fascinating travel memoir by Le Comte de Beauvoir detailing his travels to Australia, Java, Canton, China, and across the Pacific to San Francisco.
Born in 1846 in Brussels to a noble family, Beauvoir left his family at the age of nineteen to embark on a trip around the world with his childhood friend the Duke of Penthievre. From the years 1865 to 1867, the pair travelled to Australia, in the Dutch East Indies (today Indonesia), Siam (now Thailand), China, Japan and the United States.
In the original French.
