Author's Presentation Copy, First Edition, Scarce, Signed

First edition. Presentation copy inscribed in ink "To Edwin Arnold with Charles Read's kind regards, March 19th 1875". From the writer of Love Me Little, Love Me Long, Autobiography of a Thief, and Put Yourself in His Place.

Condition

Rebacked in a cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine and front board. Externally, lightly rubbed, with minor wear to extremities. Both hinges are slightly strained. Internally, generally firmly bound, bright, with the odd handling mark and spot. Ink stamp to the rear endpaper.
