First Edition, Leather Binding, Rebound

The musical sheets for the three act opera-bouffe La Petite Mariée, first performed in Paris December 1875. With music by Charles Lecocq and libretto by Eugène Leterrier and Albert Vanloo. The opera is set in sixteenth century Italy, dealing with the complications of the protagonist's affair with the local grandée's wife. 

A successful play, it ran over two-hundred performances. In the original French. The first edition of this work.

Condition

In a quarter calf binding over paper covered boards. Externally generally sound with general shelf wear and chipping some rubbing to the leather and light soiling and marking to the boards. Previous ownership inscription to the front free endpaper, undated. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are clean with some age toning, as usual, and only the odd minor faint spot to the occasional leaf.
