The uncommon second edition. In a quarter cloth binding, on red boards. With an engraved frontispiece. A lyrical anthology of traditional songs and ballads from Lancashire. Collected and edited by John Harland, and further revised and enlarged by T. T. Wilkinson. Sections featured within the volume include, 'Romantic and Legendary Ballads', 'Songs of Home and its Affections', and, 'Songs of Life and Brotherhood'. With four pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear of the book. The half title page is present.
Condition
In a quarter cloth binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed with some shelf wear to the edges and marks to the boards. Some small closed tears to the upper and lower spine. Some discoloration to the front panel. Hinges strained. Offsetting to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Internally, binding strained but still attached. Pages generally bright and clean with some age-toning and the odd spot.
