Complete in two volumes.

'The Gentleman Emigrant' recollects the travel experiences of William Stamer as he explored Canada, the United States, and Australia. 

Stamer offers a true account of his daily life travelling, looking at the wider world in the Victorian era, as well as the sports and pastimes the author indulged in.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Some light mark to the boards and spines. Small crack to the front joint of Volume II. Spines are lightly faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, a small patch of cloth lifting to the tail of the spine of Volume I. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper of Volume II. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few spots.
