The first edition of this work. This is the sixth annual report on the mining undertaken in this location. With two folding plates. Collated, complete. Written by Rossiter W Raymond, the United States Commissioner of mining statistics. This work is split into three parts, 'Condition of the Mining Industry', 'Metallurgical Processes' and 'Miscellaneous'. There are sub-sections on California, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Montana and Alaska. In addition to this there are sections on sinking shafts with the diamond drill, and the defects of mining law. An informative work on this engineering process and industry during its peak in the nineteenth century.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Rebacked, with the original boards and spine preserved. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with just the odd spot.
