Hodder M. Westropp (1820-1884) was an archaeologist and geologist known for writing 'Handbook of Archaeology', possibly the first work of its kind, as well as 'Pre-Historic Phases'.
Illustrated with a full plate frontispiece, as well as in-text illustrations and diagrams through the work.
A first edition of this scarce work.
Condition
In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, with just a little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with just the odd mark and spot.
