A lovely copy of this work, which is a 'New Edition' of Hartwig's general view of the 'Tropical World'. This revised edition has additional information on the people that reside in the regions discussed. 

With chapters on the diversity of the climate, the Peruvian sand-coast, The Sahara, Native Americans, insects, spices, birds of prey, plants and many other aspects of life and nature in the 'Tropical World'. 

In a prize binding by Relfe Bros, with their stamp to the verso of front endpaper. Prize inscription to the recto of front endpaper, dated 1877. 

Condition

In a full calf prize binding. Externally, smart. Small split to the head of front joint, the hinge remains firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Heavy spotting to the first and last few pages. Otherwise, the occasional light spots to pages.
