Illustrated with sixteen chromolithographic plates, and a wealth of vignette wood-cut illustrations.

The first half of this Victorian era guide to domestic economy is devoted to cookery instructions and recipes, with the latter portion concerned with domestic medicine and surgery, with this information provided by an unnamed member of the Royal College of Surgeons.

A brightly illustrated guide to domestic life in the late nineteenth century.

Condition

Rebacked, in a half calf binding with original cloth covered boards restored. Retaining the original endpapers. Fading to back strip, otherwise externally excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Areas of extensive spotting throughout, most concentrated to plates and the pages surrounding them.
