Illustrated, Leather Binding

A very scarce work aimed at young children. This particular work is a retelling of story of Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes, retold by the author of 'Home Chat', C. L. Mateaux. 'The Ingenious Gentleman Sir Quixote of La Mancha' was a hugely influential work, and one of the most popular work fiction from the canon of Spanish literature. This abridged and adapted version aimed at young children is illustrated throughout with numerous vignettes. The illustrator is unknown. A lovely example of this work of children's literature.

Condition

In a half morocco binding, with cloth covered boards. Externally smart, with minor shelfwear. Light fading to the spine, at to be expected with this colour of leather. Small patch of light cockling to the tail of the front board, with light spots to the head of the front board. Small biro or pen mark to the tail of the rear pastedown. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
