The Earthly Paradise by William Morris, part III containing the September, October, and November parts. The epic poem is complete in twelve parts, each representing a month and containing two tales in verse. The author's edition, originally published in Boston in 1868.
A sweeping retelling of a variety of Greek and Scandinavian myths and legends, including the Icelandic saga, initially published between 1868 and 1870. They used a frame story concerning some medieval wanderers in search of immortality. Largely successful, this anthology affirmed Morris as a foremost poet of his day.
With thirty-six leaves of tributes to William Morris and six-leaves of publisher's advertisements to the rear.
Condition
In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally smart with minor shelf wear, light bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages clean with some age toning, as usual with the type of paper used.
