Inscription to the recto of front endpaper, 'For Janey & May'. Note to the front pastedown notes 'Inscription by J.S Ellis (identified by Cockerell) to William Morris's Wife and Daughter'. Sydney Cockerell was private secretary to William Morris and one of the executors to his will.
Frederick Startridge Ellis printed works by both Morris and Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Rubbing and bumping to the extremities and to the head and tail of spine. Occasional light spots to boards. Front hinge is strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots to pages.
