Scarce work. A collection of speeches, letters, and anecdotes from the Duke of Wellington, compiled by Edith Walford. Arthur Wellesley, First Duke of Wellington, was an Anglo-Irish soldier and Tory statesman who acted as one of the leading military and political figures of 19th-century Britain, serving twice as prime minister. He is among the commanders who won and ended the Napoleonic Wars when the Seventh Coalition defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Sixteen pages of publisher's advertisement to the rear.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light bumping to the extremities and some discolouration to the boards and spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Bookseller's label to the rear pastedown.
