Penned by acclaimed textile designer and poet William Morris (1834-1896). Morris is credited with reviving traditional British textile art, and he helped establish modern fantasy as a writer, publishing short stories, novels and poetry throughout his life. He is still hailed as a prominent figure of the Victorian era remembered primarily for his art, although he was more renowned in his lifetime for poetry.
This was Morris' third collection of poetry.

Handsomely bound in full red morocco with marbled endpapers by MacLehose.

Handsomely bound in full red morocco by MacLehose. Externally, smart and bright, with rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, the joints, the raised bands and the extremities. Previous owner's ink signature to one of the front free-endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
