The first edition of this very scarce work. 

Bound in the publisher's original cloth, with an illustration to the front board and gilt details. 

A charming series of prose and poetry describing the changing of the seasons month by month, with each chapter adorned with its own beautifully illustrated colour plate. 

With twelve colour plates, including a frontispiece. Collated, complete. 

From Mary Howitt, an English poet, best known for the poem 'The Spider and the Fly'. She has also translated several tales by Hans Christian Andersen. 

With two leaves of publisher's advertisements to the rear.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. With rubbing and slight bumping to the extremities. Light marks to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting and the odd spot to the endpapers.
