The first edition of this work. An uncommon title. A thorough book on the history of Japan, with a presentation of the imperial family and court, the politics and governments as well as the laws. Inscribed by the author to half title page "with the author's compliments."

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to spine. Externally very smart, with shelfwear and bumping to head and tail of spine, and minor mark to rear board. Cloth to spine has slightly darkened. Inscribed by the author to half title page " With the author's compliments," undated. Internally, firmly bound. Minor spotting to first and last few leaves,m otherwise pages are generally bright and clean. With frontispiece.
