What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Written and illustrated by John Ross Browne (1821-1875), an Irish-American writer, government agent and traveller. His writings influenced the likes of Mark Twain, Bret Harte and Dan de Quille, and include other works such as 'A Peep at Washoe', 'From Crusoe's Island: a Ramble in the Footsteps of Alexander Selkirk', 'An American Family in Germany' and 'Sketch of the Settlement and Exploration of Lower California'.

Profusely illustrated throughout with both full plate and vignette illustrations by the author.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with bumping to the head and tail of the spine resulting in minor loss to the cloth and a small mark to the rear board. Ownership inscription to front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound, pages a touch age-toned but otherwise bright and clean.
