Uniformly bound in the publisher's original cloth binding.

Comprising of:

Edinburgh and Its Neighbourhood, Geological and Historical; with the Geology of the Bass Rock, the third edition published in 1869. Containing three full page plates, collated and complete.

Sketch-Book of Popular Geology
, the third edition published in 1869. Containing six lectures and a lengthy appendix. 

The Old Red Sandstone, or, New Walks in an Old Field, the eighteenth edition published in 1873. Containing fourteen illustrated plates, one of which is folding, collated and complete. 

My Schools and Schoolmasters, or, The Story of My Education, the twenty-fourth edition published in 1874. Containing an engraved frontispiece portrait of Miller. This copy was previously owned by noted British scholar and educator, John Dewar Denniston, and his bookplate can be found to the front pastedown. 

Uncommon works. 

Containing a previous owner's ink signature to the front free-endpaper of My Schools and Schoolmasters.

Also containing a previous owner's ink signature to the front free-endpaper of The Old Red Sandstone.

Condition

In the publisher's original red cloth binding. Externally, general shelf wear and darkening of the spines. Bumping to the heads and tails of the spines and a small amount of splitting to the cloth on the joints of 'Schools and Schoolmasters'. Bookplate of John Dewar Denniston to the front pastedown of 'Schools and Schoolmasters' and previous owners' ink signatures to the front free-endpapers of 'Schools and Schoolmasters' and 'The Old Red Sandstone'. Internally, hinges to 'Popular Geology' slightly tender. Hinges to 'Schools and Schoolmasters' and 'The Old Red Sandstone are starting significantly, and there is an amateur tape repair to the rear hinge of 'The Old Red Sandstone'. Front free-endpaper and half title page of 'Schools and Schoolmasters' detached but present. Binding is tender throughout 'Edinburgh'. A few spots to the first and last few pages of 'Popular Geology' and 'Edinburgh', and the odd spot throughout 'Edinburgh', otherwise pages are generally clean.
