This is the third, enlarged edition of The Rivulet, a collection of hymns for both the heart and voice. The collection are largely songs for congregational use but some are also for personal use. 

This edition contains one hundred and sixty-seven hymns, adding fifty-three from the previous editions. 

This edition also has a letter written and signed by the author pasted to the half title page that reads: 

Dear Sir, 
You sent me a note on the testimonies of last week ... for Wednesdays ceremony. ... if I did not  ... whether I could come I did not reply, and when the evening came I could not come. I have owed you therefore a cake but having been immobile of late I am unable to 'meet my calls' am ... please must be frankly forgiven. In the hope that I am or I have ...

Condition

In full cloth binding. Spine is faded and worn with some bumping to the head and tail. There are some marks to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound with bright and clean pages and the odd scattered spot throughout.
