What Our Customers Say...

Description

Early Edition, Rebound

The fifth edition of William Banting's 'Letter on Corpulence', rebound in paper wraps. In the style of a testimonial, Banting gives an account of his unsuccessful fasting, dieting, and exercise regimes, before detailing the diet plan that helped him curb his obesity. Although the diet was suggested to him by Dr William Harvey, Banting was one of the first to popularise diets that limit the intake of starchy or sugary carbohydrates. Banting was a notable undertaker, whose family run funeral directors conducted the funerals of the royal family from 1820 to 1928.

Condition

Rebound in paper wraps. Externally very smart, with a little rubbing to paper label. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age-toned but clean.
