First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and twelve plates. Collated complete. A collection of notices from the life of the author and his sporting career, with chapters on his school days, farming, sport in the New Forest, marriage, becoming a master of the hunt, and more. Written by Thomas Smith, a British sportsman and Ex-Master of Foxhounds.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with frontispiece loosening. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Minor staining from petals dried between some pages. Light age toning to the endpapers. Booth Bird Museum Brighton bookplate to the front pastedown with their ink stamp to the front endpapers and the odd page.
