First Edition, Illustrated, Very Scarce

Published a mere two years after the end of the war, this volume explores the fluctuating state of the U.S. Travelling from Liverpool to St. Louis and then across America, Kennaway visits numerous former plantations and parliamentary buildings, and touches upon the importance of the British and American relationship. Written by John Kennaway, the English politician. An interesting work from an important period of American history. Illustrated with 4 plates. Each plate has a blindstamp of City of Liverpool Library.

Condition

Rebound in a full cloth binding, with gilt lettering and library numbers to the spine. Externally, very smart, with minor wear to the spine and extremities. Bookplates to both the front and rear pastedowns of City of Liverpool Library. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a library stamp to the reverse of the title page.
