A new edition. 'The Ingoldsby Legends' are a collection of tales and ghost stories noted to be written by Thomas Ingoldsby, a pseudonym for Richard Harris Barham (1788-1845). They were first printed as a regular series in the magazine 'Bentley's Miscellany' and soon became so popular they were issued separately.
With an illustrated title page, this edition is compiled into three series.
Contains an ownership bookplate to a William Hawksworth with an emblem.
In a half calf binding with marbled boards and edges.
Condition
Externally generally smart, some shelfwear to the boards. Ownership bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound, pages bright and clean generally, some minor spotting to the front and back endpapers.
