In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Small loss to the head and tail of spines. Patches of rubbing to the joints and extremities. Ink spill to the front board of volume I. Bookplate to the front pastedowns of all volumes, Oliver Nowell Chadwych-Healey. Prior owner's inscription to the half-title 'A Macmillan'. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
