What Our Customers Say...

Description

Co-authored by brothers Richard and Samuel Redgrave. Richard Redgrave (1804-1888) was an English landscape artist, who first was a designer before becoming a genre and landscape painter. He served as surveyor of crown pictures between 1856 and 1860, and declined the offer of a knighthood in 1869. This was an influential work and serves as a piece of art history and criticism, focusing on English painting during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
