Early Edition, Leather Binding, Rebound, Scarce

An early edition. In smart half calf binding. Six volumes bound into three books, being Volumes I-VI of a total of XII volumes. A collection of selected works by Friedrich Schiller, showcasing both his poetry and plays. With a biographical introduction to the start of volume one. Friedrich Schiller was a prolific German playwright, poet and philosopher. Schiller is best known for working alongside the famous and influential writer, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

Condition

In half calf binding with gilt detail to the spine. Externally, smart with fading to the edges of the boards and rubbing to the extremities. Fading and wear to the spine. Some marks to the boards. The front hinges of book one and three are starting but firm. Spotting and offsetting to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with a few scattered spots, heavier towards the front and rear of the books.
