First edition in the original cloth binding. The frontispiece depicts James Wolfe. The biography of Major-General James Wolfe, famed for his victory at the 1759 Battle of the Plains of Abraham in Quebec. Founded on original documents, it includes unpublished letters from family papers of the descendants of his companions.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally smart, with some slight wear to the head and tail of spine and to the extremities. Minor split to rear join. Hinges weak. Bookplate on the front paste down. Blind stamp to front free endpaper. Internally binding strained in plates. The odd spot, heavier to the frontispiece. Pages generally bright and clean.
