A bright copy of this work, with illustrated frontispiece and tissue-guard. Former owner's inscription on front endpaper. The collected notes of Reverend John McCaul on Britanno-Roman inscriptions. Irish-Canadian theologian McCaul includes inscriptions found on, among others, alters, votive tablets, sepulchral stones and centurial stones found in various areas of England, Scotland and Wales.
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Some fading to the spine, along with minor bumping to head and tail. Bumping to the extremities. Former owner's inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Cockling to the endpapers from damp, not affecting the text-block. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown, 'W. S. Sime, Glasgow'. Binder's label to the back pastedown. 'Brown Bro's, Toronto'. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages bright with light spotting concentrated to the first and last few pages. Otherwise, pages are clean.
