First Edition, Leather Binding, Rebound

Vol. VIII from September 13th 1862 to February 21st 1863 of This famous Victorian periodical, founded and owned by Charles Dickens. A direct successor to Household Words, it was edited by Dickens himself and hosted the serialisation of numerous novels including A Tale of Two Cities

The present volume, a first edition of volume VIII, with consecutive numbers from 177 to 200.

Notable contributions to this volume include No Name by Wilkie Collins. Bound to rear is the 48pp. extra Christmas number for 1862 Somebody's Luggage.

Condition

In half calf binding over marbled boards. Externally sound with some shelf wear, rubbed to boards and spine, minor scuffing to extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally very clean throughout with minor spotting scattered to the occasional leaf.
