The third edition. In the original French. Louis Enault was a French journalist and novelist. He was also a translator and collaborated with Gustave Dore. His main translations were Harriet Beecher Stowe's 'Uncle Tom's Cabin.' and Goethe's 'Werther'.
Condition
In a half vellum binding with marbled paper boards. Externally, bumped to the head and tail of spine. Loss to the spine label.Patches of light rubbing to the boards. Small loss to the paper covered boards. Prior owner's inscriptions to the front pastedown, dated 1963. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with occasional scattered spots.
