Disbound, as issued. 'A Welcome' was written to commemorate the arrival of Princess Alexandra of Wales, who became Queen upon Edward VII's accession. This is the first edition, second impression, denoted by the hollow diamond below the poem's title. Alfred, Lord Tennyson was one of the most popular Victorian poets. He remains extremely popular to this day and was Poet Laureate for much of Queen Victoria's reign. He wrote this ode of welcome during his position as Poet Laureate and it marks Alexandra's arrival three days before her wedding. A bright copy of this historically important poem.

Disbound, as issued. Small crease to the title leaf at the bottom of the page. Otherwise, pages are bright with just one or two light spots.
