Thomas de Quincey was an English essayist best known for his Confessions of an English Opium Eater. It is believed this work inspired the tradition of addiction literature in the West.

Condition

In uniform half calf bindings with paper covered boards. Externally, sound with slight rubbing to spines. Heavier rubbing to the head and tail of spines as well as to the extremities. Front hinge to volumes I, II, IV, V, VI, VIII, X, XII, XIII, XIV are slightly strained but firm. Rear hinge to volumes III, VI, VII, IX, X, XIII are slightly strained but firm. Small loss to head of spine to volume IV and XIII. Small loss to tail of spine to volume V. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with spots to the first and last few pages.
